I'm a competitive athlete, coach, writer and most importantly, a mom! My husband and I try to balance our athletic lifestyle while raising our two energetic children. I love training and racing, whether it be trail or road running and duathlons. I've been fortunate to win medals at the Worlds Duathlon Championships, have represented Canada at World's Mountain Running Championship and have won numerous running events including 3 Day Transrockies, Toronto and Ottawa Half Marathons, and several North Face Endurance Challenge events. But much of my passion with sports lies with helping others to be fit and to create an active lifestyle that works for them and their family. Some of this is accomplished with coaching, hosting trail running retreats and writing.
I work as a chiropractor at 2 multidisciplinary clinics in Toronto and have over 20 years experience working in the health and fitness industry. I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Physical Education and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology, where I specifically looked at exercise during pregnancy. I then went on to graduate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. I now combine the knowledge and experience from both careers in order to meld the disciplines of fitness and chiropractic, providing the utmost care to my patients. I love working with all types of patients, from the weekend warrior to the elite athlete and from children to the elderly. I also enjoy working as a personal trainer and conducting research on back pain and pregnancy at the CMCC. I have presented my research at a number of conferences and have co-authored two manuals for fitness certifying bodies, as well as a variety of articles for the fitness industry. Outside of work, I am an avid cyclist and runner, was a member of the National Duathlon Team and qualified twice for the World Duathlon championship
